Billing policy

Who pays?

Referring hospitals and patients pay no ailix fee. The Korean hospital pays: account fees, document translation and consultations are all settled in credits from its wallet. Patient medical fees, interpreters’ fees and other amounts the hospitals agree between themselves are not part of this guide.

Who pays for preview and return translations?

When a referral comes in, the records are translated once so the Korean hospitals can read them before deciding. This preview translation is paid by the Korean hospital the referring side chooses (for a referral sent to one hospital, the one that accepts), per translated page at that hospital’s page price. If no hospital is chosen, nobody pays. Return translation, which turns Korean records into text the patient’s doctor at home can read, is also paid by the Korean hospital at its page price. Pages that fail to translate are not charged.

How is the account base fee calculated?

Each staff or doctor account of a Korean hospital costs 1,000 credits a month (KRW 100,000, VAT excluded). Every account in use at any time during the month (Seoul calendar) counts, including accounts created mid-month. Invitations not yet signed in and switched-off accounts do not count, and accounts of referring hospitals and of patients are not charged. A hospital’s own contract rate applies where it has one, at the rate in force on the 1st of the month.

When are credits deducted?

Document translation and consultation confirmation are prepaid. Overtime is settled after the consultation, rounded up in 5-minute blocks. A 26-minute consultation uses the 15-minute base plus three overtime blocks. The account base fee for the previous month is deducted on the 1st (Seoul time); on termination, the month’s share is settled before the remaining paid credit is refunded.

What if the balance is insufficient?

Prepaid tasks cannot proceed without enough credit. Overtime and the account base fee are charged afterwards and can take the balance below zero. While it is negative, new document translations and consultation confirmations are blocked, and the next top-up clears the negative amount first.

How are free and paid credits used?

Granted free credits are used first. Paid and free balances are shown separately. View top-ups, usage and refunds in the ledger or download them as CSV.

What are the cancellation terms?

The system returns credits for cancellation by the confirmed consultation’s refund deadline. The default deadline is 24 hours before the confirmed time; rescheduling does not extend it. No-shows are not refunded. Check the confirmation screen and your agreement for the applicable terms.

How do top-ups and payments work?

A service administrator currently records credit top-ups. Confirm payment methods, invoicing cycles, tax invoices and agreement terms during setup. Automatic card payments or a specific payment method are not promised.
